Dining Room to Nursery Conversion — French Door Installation

Project Story
The Challenge
A family expecting a new baby needed to transform their formal dining room into a private bedroom. The vision was a clean, finished conversion that felt intentional — not like a room that had been closed off as an afterthought. That meant framing in a 48"x80" opening and installing a set of French doors that would make the space feel like it belonged there from the start.
The Solution
We framed in the opening from scratch, then installed pre-hung French doors with all new trim work around the frame. Above the doors, we hung new drywall, taped, finished, and textured to match the existing walls throughout the house. All trim and doors were caulked, primed, and painted for a seamless look, and new doorknobs were installed to complete the finish.
The Result
What was once a dining room is now a finished, private bedroom ready for the newest member of the family! The solid French doors add a touch of elegance while providing the privacy and separation the space needed, and the craftsmanship throughout makes it look like the room was always designed that way. A clean, meaningful transformation the whole family can appreciate.
